I can't even begin to understand what that is. [Arthur thinks tafelshrew must be a rodent of some kind.]

Is there anything in particular I should know about Gallifreyan cooking? I'd like to know what I'm talking about before making a request to the Admiral and the kitchen staff.

Are most months like this past one?

Some are worse than others, but that was the worst it's been. Usually, there are at least two weeks between killing sprees.

The killing sprees are usual here?

Let's just say they're more common with some inmates than others.

My inmate doesn't have--- [she pauses and hmm that file has disappeared.]

Her file's gone. It was just sitting here.

Welcome to another aspect of Barge life. [He sounds a little regretful, because man, it hurt him when that happened to Mindy.] Did you even have a chance to talk to her yet?

No. [Ariadne sounds a little more than confused, if not a little flustered by it.] I just received it. Why would it just disappear like that? Was I supposed to write it down?

[There's a pause from her end. A long pause. When she speaks, her voice is mostly steady:] You know this from experience?

Yeah, twice.

I'm sorry.

It's something unavoidable here. I'm sorry you had to experience it so quickly. [Although a part of him wonders if it's for the best to lose them before you get a chance to connect.]

[She thought she heard some sympathy there and that at least helped some. There's a quiet thunk of her knocking her totem over. Yep, Lucy's actually gone. The Barge is still reality.]

So what do we do in the mean time? I could go back to watching Amanda.

[She pauses, because she knows how she reacted to his warning about the inmate.]

Not yet. But she's been in bed most of the month.

That definitely helps. The most important thing about Amanda is that she can turn any seemingly innocent object into a weapon. The components of her traps were, once broken down, largely easily obtainable, everyday objects. Some found around the Barge; others likely from port.

What do you mean by traps?

The "games" she's always talking about? Burning Victor Frankenstein's face, mutilating Clapet's leg?

[Pause.]

You don't know what she's done here?

I didn't know other people called them traps. I know what her games are, just not that they were called "traps."

Are there other names for them?

I'm talking about the devices.

No. It's not a special name. It's just a descriptor.

I've only heard that they're... brutal. [Mostly because she can't quite find another word for it.]

They are. And they're made with found objects.

Then what can we do to stop her?
