So, what's the protocol for when a warden shoots an inmate? Or, specifically, their inmate?

Well I personally would say that feverish hallucinations and any kind of firearm would be the first problematic union on this particular road to disaster. Seriously, what the hell?

Okay, here's my recommendation for protocol on this: You give Howie your gun and I punch you in the face a few times.

I wasn't cuddling in bed with the gun. It was knocked out while she was attacking me.

And yet my desire to punch you in the face for this is un-dampened.

Look, you asked what the proceedure is, and I don't think there is one, but honestly I think if you shoot a twelve year old girl because you somehow got hold of a gun when your brain was hosting a one man magic show for you?

I think the least that you could do is lose the freakin' gun so we know this isn't going to happen again.

Hell, if she was just slightly better at attacking you? You would have had a fever, a bullet hole in your head, and an insane twelve year old with a gun out threatening the rest of the Barge, there's just... so many layers to why this sucks.

I never said she was. But I was under the impression that the thing to do in a situation such as this was alert the other wardens and let them decide what happens from there.

Well hey, you know my vote, and so far what I see from the other wardens is that you should explain yourself, answer questions, hold still while you get laughed at because the fact that there was a preteen with a bullet hole in her is real funny, and last but not least... hang in there and see what everyone else says.

So screw it. Maybe they'll get together to mete out a fair and just punishment on you? But probably, since this was an accident and she's just some inmate? They won't. I don't have the authority to come take your gun off you, and maybe no one else thinks it's necessary, but if you wanted to get out of this with just a stern talking too, then you could have just told Howie and sat back and listened.

So take some freakin' responsibility for yourself, and do whatever you want. You think she's safer if you hide the gun in a biscuit tin? Then do that. You think she's safer if you have it, so you can protect her from wolves or whatever? Then do that instead. I think what happens from here is that you lose it, but it's not as if I have any way to actually make that happen, so just do whatever.

When have I ever said that I wanted to get off with a slap on the wrist? You want me to lose the gun? Fine, if that's what's voted on, I'll get rid of it. But telling me what I could have or should have done, after it's already happened, solves nothing.

And you were the first one here to make jokes about inmates getting shot 'haha', so maybe you should stop projecting your shit onto everybody else.

Did I say you wanted that? Uh, no. I was more implying that the established voting system you have a weird belief in the existence of? Kinda sucks. I doubt that anyone's going to want to step on your toes here, so in the end what you get off with? Will probably be whatever the hell you want.

And personally, I think saying 'You could have not had a gun in your room where you could both get to it' coupled with telling you that you should get rid of it? Is more in the realms of backing up the suggestion than just impractical yelling.

And if you honestly can't get that there's a difference between me joking about pistol whipping Rex when that isn't something that I have ever or would ever do, and cracking out the funnies about a little girl actually getting shot? Then you lose another rank. Rex five.

I already said it was taken care of. It's not in any place where she can get a hold of it.

It's the same nickname. It's just losing ranks. And yeah, I am an acceptable level of flippant, walking the fine line between just being a flippant kind of guy, and not liking it when kids get shot.
