Given the current tension, I'm going to have to ask everyone to refrain from giving any alcohol to my inmate, Perry Dawsey, if he comes asking for some. No trips to the bar, no favors, don't give it to somebody else to give to him, nothing until I give the go-ahead. It's just a temporary measure.

What was she like before the Barge? Obviously more discrete, but you'd obviously know better then I would.

She was more... alive. [For lack of a better word. No, he should probably elaborate.] Very creative, inventive. She was quick to adapt to new situations. She wasn't shy, and she wasn't afraid to speak her mind. If something made her uncomfortable, or she was upset, she'd confront the issue.

And it probably goes without saying that she was very inquisitive.

So, what do you think happened? Nanomites, parallel universe, a flood that affected no one else but her? [He's not going to bother voicing the elaborate scheme theory. :|]

Given the timing of her departure and her return, my first guess would be an early round of nanomites testing. From what I understand, there was one or two incidents in the past that mirrored what happened on a much smaller scale.

...

But then that would imply that Rex could actually remove wardens from the Barge entirely, which is... completely unlikely.

Got any theories that make more sense?

Not really. Unless this is some elaborate ruse where she found out a bunch of us are angry with her for our various reasons and is now faking Barge amnesia like a pro so we won't confront her about what happened, the nanomites would be my first guess too.

She could have always disappeared for the same reasons any person vanishes. Rex didn't necessarily have to boot her off the Barge.

That thought's crossed my mind, too, believe me.

But about the departure... True. It could all be one big coincidence. And the nanomites would explain why she seemed like herself at first. [Before the Aztecs.] Then again, the entire shift in personality could also be explained by the stresses of this environment. [Why... why can't this be simple...]

I wouldn't necessarily be shocked. Showing up right before an Aztec takeover is pretty intense, especially if it basically meant you died and came back within the first couple weeks of being on the Barge.
