red hair, petite, really likes leather. calls herself 'willow.' she's smarter and stronger than she looks, so don't underestimate her. was trying to get her to lvl 0 after she attacked me. let my guard down after i thought i subdued her. it was a stupid mistake.

[She's being a good little nurse, pouring him some water and handing it to him and everything.]

I know you don't like being on drugs, but...if it gets really bad, tell me, or Dr. McCoy. Okay? It's not worth it. [She runs her thumb over his knuckles lightly.]

It's fine, I just feel like I was hit by a train. I can get through it. [He squeezes her hand.] How long have you been waiting?

Oh yeah, trains aren't so bad. [SARCASM.] I dunno. Overnight. I slept for a while. [Yeah, like maybe an hour. In the chair next to his bed.]

It was a very small train. [He takes the water and has a sip. It's cool and soothing, at least, even if the act of swallowing hurts.]

I'm sorry you had to see it.

[Oh, Arthur. You saw the post, didn't you? Dammit.]

It's no big deal. I'm just glad it was me, and not one of the nastier people on board.

I'd like to hope nobody would desecrate my corpse. [He shifts in the bed a little.] If you need a nap, I can make room for you.

Everyone would like to hope that. [BUT YOU JUST NEVER KNOW.

She hesitates a moment, glancing around because in private? Sure. In the infirmary, where any number of people could just walk in? It's not like it's some huge secret they need to keep, but it's really, really new.

But she is tired, and the bed is way more comfortable than the chair she's been sitting in for who-knows-how-long. So she slides in next to him, and kisses his cheek lightly.] You'll have to let me know if you need something.

[Arthur, for his part, isn't too concerned about others walking by. He's in a relatively secluded corner of the infirmary, and he's pretty sure half the Barge thought they were dating long before they started. Besides, this is a practical matter: she needs sleep, and she's not likely to leave his side right now. Arthur loops an arm around her, kissing her forehead in return.]

I'll be fine. [And by "fine" he means "in horrible misery," but he doesn't want to worry her right now. Although Arthur hasn't died very many times on the Barge, he's sure this Death Toll won't be as bad as his self-inflicted one. After getting through that, he's sure he can handle this with minimum drama.] The worst part's over.

Tell me that again when you're capable of walking without assistance. [Yeah, so she's skeptical. Still, she relaxes against him pretty easily, and it's the most relaxed she's been since she found him yesterday.]

I'll try to get you out of here soon.

Okay, I use the word "fine" loosely. [He shifts again to get more comfortable. Weird as it is, her body next to his is something of a comfort. Arthur's not one for cuddling-- he rarely has people to share a bed with-- but this feels... relaxing.]

It's nothing you have to thank me for. [She starts to say that she'd've done the same for him or any good friend, but that's maybe not entirely true. She might've been more willing to leave the bedside of a friend who wasn't Arthur.

So Arthur's just important to her, she supposes. The most important, right now.]
