Absolutely. I was running a high fever, practically hallucinating-- needless to say, my judgment wasn't sound at the time-- and my inmate broke into my room and tried to strangle me with a lamp cord. We fought, and she had the upper hand. It was kind of hard for her not to when I was in that state. Some of the furniture was turned over, the gun came out of the drawer, and we both went for it. I got it first, and I fired. It wasn't what I normally would have done in that situation, and it was a mistake. It just... felt like instinct at the time.
