Well hey, you know my vote, and so far what I see from the other wardens is that you should explain yourself, answer questions, hold still while you get laughed at because the fact that there was a preteen with a bullet hole in her is real funny, and last but not least... hang in there and see what everyone else says.

So screw it. Maybe they'll get together to mete out a fair and just punishment on you? But probably, since this was an accident and she's just some inmate? They won't. I don't have the authority to come take your gun off you, and maybe no one else thinks it's necessary, but if you wanted to get out of this with just a stern talking too, then you could have just told Howie and sat back and listened.

So take some freakin' responsibility for yourself, and do whatever you want. You think she's safer if you hide the gun in a biscuit tin? Then do that. You think she's safer if you have it, so you can protect her from wolves or whatever? Then do that instead. I think what happens from here is that you lose it, but it's not as if I have any way to actually make that happen, so just do whatever.
